First, you have to tear yourself away from home - not always easy when you can watch red squirrels, woodpeckers and crested tits on the bird feeders in the garden, cook up a storm in the kitchen, or try your hand at the barbecue or the wood fired pizza oven in the enclosed back garden. Or even just snooze or play board games on the blissfully comfy sofas around the wood burning stove in the living room.

But when you do, you are an easy walk through the woods to the Rothiemurchus Farm Shop and Cafe, Treezone zip wires, tennis courts, bike hire and fishing lochans. The Old Bridge Inn and La Taverna restaurants are a 15 minute stroll towards Aviemore, with the centre of the village itself another five minutes' walk beyond that.
